Functional GI

IBS & Functional GI Disorders

What It Is

Irritable bowel syndrome affects up to one in ten people. It's diagnosed when symptoms persist without visible inflammation — but a 'normal' colonoscopy doesn't mean nothing is wrong. IBS has real, findable drivers: post-infectious changes, SIBO, bile acid malabsorption, pancreatic insufficiency, dysbiosis, visceral hypersensitivity, and gut-brain axis dysfunction.

How I Approach It

My job is to figure out which IBS you have. That means careful history and targeted functional testing — breath tests, stool analysis, and less common tests most workups skip. Then we treat the actual driver instead of managing symptoms forever.
