Dr. Ilana Gurevich is a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist specializing exclusively in gastrointestinal disease. A Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Gastroenterology and founder of Open Wellness PDX in Portland, Oregon, she has spent 18+ years treating IBD, IBS, and SIBO — informed by her own history with Crohn's disease. She co-hosts The Turd Nerds and The Point of Medicine podcasts, teaches practitioners through her Mastering IBD course, and advises supplement and laboratory companies.
Dr. Ilana Gurevich, ND, LAc, MSOM, FABNG, graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine with her naturopathic doctorate (2007) and master's in Oriental medicine (2008). Her personal journey with Crohn's disease shaped a practice devoted entirely to digestive health — inflammatory bowel disease, IBS, SIBO, and the functional GI disorders that fall through the cracks of conventional care. She is a Fellow and past board leader of the Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians, was twice nominated among Portland's "Top Docs" by Portland Monthly, and founded Open Wellness PDX, a multidisciplinary integrative clinic in Portland. Beyond the clinic she is a nationally known educator: author of the Mastering Inflammatory Bowel Disease practitioner course, mentor to residents and physicians, conference lecturer, co-host of two podcasts, and advisor to companies across the gut-health space including work as a physician educator with Nestlé Health Science and Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory.
